Writers of the Future Vol 40 Cover

WOTF Vol 40 Cover Reveal!

by | Mar 2, 2024 | Published, Writing | 0 comments

Last night the Writers of the Future Vol 40 cover was revealed!

It’s so, so pretty, isn’t it? The cover artist is Dan dos Santos. Check out his website here.

I’m thrilled to have my story, which won first place for the first quarter Vol 40, included.

I can’t tell you any details about the story itself yet–look for a post in late April, after the gala April 25th!

If you’re not familiar with Writers of the Future, it’s a contest with entries every quarter from not-yet-pro authors. Check out their site here. The site includes a blog, forums, a podcast and a free online workshop (highly recommended), as well as the links for entering the contest.

Quarterly winners attend a week-long workshop, culminating in a gala event where we’ll receive trophies and–gulp–give speeches. A “Golden Pen” winner is chosen from the quarterly first place winners. The anthology is published shortly after the workshop.

There’s so much more to say about this, but I’ll post more during (or at least after!) the actual workshop.

If you’d like to preorder the anthology, visit this link.

Let me know what you think about the cover!

Stonefruit Tasting Menu

I've mentioned in the past that my friend Mel and I like to plan and execute tasting menus! This one was from last summer, centered around stonefruit. Just wanted to share for inspiration, since this is right time of year (in the northern hemisphere) to tackle this!
